GREDDY TYPE "S" BLOW OFF VALVE INSTALL
This is a fairly straight forward
install when the straight flanged adapter is included with the kit.
The Type "S" installs the same
way the original comes out. It is a recirculating type Blow off valve,
meaning it recirculates the
blow off back into the Y pipe so you loose less boost air.
Venting a BOV to atmosphere
will lose all boost vented therefore causing the turbos to have to
recover from the lost boost
pressure, so recirculating it makes sense to maintain performance.
Here is a photo of the Greddy
installed in the same place as the original. I did use the new hose
provided for the install only
because it was a new hose. There was nothing wrong with my old hose.
There is a protector sleeve
around the original hose which I transfered over to the new hose for the
same
reason it was on the original.
To keep the hose from rubbing and wearing a hole in it.
The Vacuum Hose I mentioned replacing is also straight
forward. Run it the same as the original
or if you choose, reuse the original, however it is
best to replace it either way only because
it is new and it came with the kit. I advise reusing
the rubber shield however.
Here are a couple more photos along with one of the
original BOV.
Have Fun!!!
