Installation Instructions

Ok this is the how to guide and will show you step by step how to install
the Gauge faces
First start out with the printed faces. Remember that you have to print
them to size by
measuring the original gauge faces and adjusting your page setup accordingly
in inches or Millimeters
If you can do it with all three on one sheet as I did that is good,
but each file is individual that
you have downloaded so print them to size allowing for any extra space
that is around the photo file
It is best to go through the whole install before you start so you
can obtain the originals for measurement
Use a good quality photo paper for printing and the maximum DPI you
can on your printer of at least 300 dpi
in your best quality mode using 16 million colors.
Now you will need something very sharp to cut around these faces
I am using a scalpel
Sissors will work on the outside edge but not for cutouts
Cutting them out will take a little time so be careful
Ok now you have them all cut out its time to cut all the little bits out
As you can see cutting them is not easy and can easily be messed up
The longer you take the nicer they will look so I can't stress this
enough take your time
Ok now you have them all cut and ready to be used, theres one thing missing though
Lighting templates!
You will need two of them, one for the rev face and one for the Speedo
face
Once you have them printed off its time to mount them on some light proof paper or card
There are a number of lightproof things you can use but I have used
very thin card
Black card is just as good
Now spray mount the temps to the card, and cut them out
Once you have them cut out you have the lighting templates ready to go
As you can see the Speedo template have the trip and mileage counter
in the right places
And the rev template looks like its going to fit nicely ;)
Just make sure that both templates look ok behind the faces
If you need to tidy the templates a bit do it now
Ok now we are in the car its time to take off the dash
First unscrew the two screws at the top marked in red
Now lower your stirring wheel
And pop off the dash surroundings, it should just pop off but there
are two plugs
that you will have to undo to remove the surroundings all together
One on ether side
Now unscrew the four screw holding in the dash, also marked in red
With the dash out you have to pop open the casing,
First pull out the mileo reset,
Then just press in these two clips and the hole thing should just open
Now you can see your faces its time to mark the needles, don't just
pull them off!
First lift the needles over the stopper that stops the needles when
the cars not running
After you do that the needles will start to move and then come to rest,
where they have stopped there in there starting point.
Get a marker and mark where the needles have stopped on the outside
housing
Once you have done this you can safely take off the needles
To remove your old faces just undo the black screws in the middle
of the faces and lift the faces off
Ok now its time to put the new faces on with the lighting templates
If your going to put the rev face on that goes up to 10 you may want to
hack at the plastic
behind the face that's not used with the TT so you
can remove it to make
the light come through all of the face
If your putting on the rev face that goes up to 9 then you can leave
it there
Notice the lighting template behind the face
Ok you should now have all your new faces on your dash. if not get a
move on! ;)

Ok, that's all I wanted to say, back to Mike,,,,
Then just pop back on the cover for the dash and place the dash back
in the car
not forgetting to screw up the four screws
And finally put the surrounding back on not forgetting to screw up
the two screws and
plug in the two plugs,
One on ether side
And there we have it
lights on
I hope you enjoy this mod
i like it ;)
