The Original Exhaust is not Stainless
Steel, Some parts are Aluminized and a combination of Stainless and
Regular Steel It's properties
lend to a long life but True Stainless has no Magnetic Properties and a
magnet
will not stick to it. Magnets
do however stick to the piping of this exhaust so it is not true Stainless.
The Shields
appear to be Aluminized Steel,
but will rust to some extent if not maintained. After cleaning the rust
off and
converting it to a Carbon Black
I painted the exhaust and shields with Plasticoat brand High Heat 1,200°
Aluminum
paint. I have used this paint
for high heat applications for over 15 years and they stay looking good
over
a long period of time. It is
the same paint I used on my Plenum and my 1965 Honda Dream Engine 15 Years
ago
