I have since bought New Wheels
and Tires 17" Chrome 1998 Mitsubishi Wheels and Nitto 245/45/17 555ZR Tires
Here is a couple photos of them
If these aren't good in rain I don't know what will be,, look at those
channeling grooves
From what I am told these have
the largest Contact Patch among these size tires
About the Original Wheels, no,
they are not for sale unless you want to give me half of what the dealer
wants
of $800 each, but you can get
them from others for about $400 to $500 a set. Course they may not be in
too good a shape
and missing the lugs and locks,
but you can get them for that price. I drove 3 hours one way for a set
for someone
else as a favor because I did
not wish to sell mine and they wanted $425 for the set with tires (that
were shot) and couple
pretty good size gouges and
no lugs or locks plus one was missing the center cap which they want a
rediculous amount
for at the dealer. The person
I was buying them from who shall remain unknown wasn't there to answer
questions so I left.
and drove 3 hours back. Then
the person didn't even have the courtesy to apologize for not giving me
all the information on
them and saying they were in
good shape. To top it all off I knew this person, so a lesson learned about
driving a long way to
buy something on someones word
whether you know them or not. This person was also on his way to being
a well
known and respected member so
it seems strange they would jeopardize that for a sale. Also a lesson to
always tell the
person exactly what the condition
is so they know what to expect. I don't hold a grudge about it but the
person will
know who I am refering to when
and if he reads this. I just consider the years this person has had to
learn the value of
being honest in their dealings
Especially to other members if you wish to earn their respect.
Had the person contacted me
I would not have put this info in here,
but it has been a couple months
and no contact and I don't expect any anymore, but I will see this person
again.
Yeah, I saw him again, but he
didn't have the maturity to apologize,,, doubt he ever will
