Sully's Two Seater Conversion Instructions

     A. Horizontal Board

B. Vertical Board

C. Wooden Piece Block

MATERIALS NEEDED:

1. Vinyl (that matches the interior) 3 meters in length
2. Foam sheets (sponge material) 3 meters in length
3. Hard board (a hard cardboard) 4’x 8’ sheet -1/8 thick
4. Adhesive spray (one aerosol can)
5. Black colored wood screws (various sizes)

1. Heavy duty staple gun (with standard staples)
2. Hand saw (narrow tip)
3. Scissors
4. Screw driver

• You can use a home stereo speaker cover to provide a (stealth effect) to not advertise to everyone what type of stereo system you have. You can use a kicker box or the existing stock system to provide for the sounds inside your closure.
• Or install your own speaker system on to the vertical or horizontal side of the closure.

STEP #1

* Remove rear seat belt covers and seat belt harness.

STEP #2

* Cut the hard board to the measurements illustrated in Diagram a, b, and c.

Note: You must also precut the boards for your speaker covers or speaker system.

* Take precut boards to the car to ensure that the boards have a proper fit.

* Once each board fits properly, you are ready to upholster the precut boards.

STEP #3

* Upholster the precut boards.

* Place the sponge sheet on a flat surface, then lay the precut boards on top of the foam sheet. Note: Be sure to leave 2 inches extra around the edge of the board.

* Place the vinyl material on a flat surface, then lay the precut sponge on top of the vinyl and cut the same size.

* Take the precut (2"x 1" piece of wood) and join it to the edge of the horizontal board (Be sure the wood piece is centered) then use the wood screws to fasten.

* Take the board and spray one side with adhesive spray, let it set for one minute, then apply the sponge to the sticky surface. Be sure the sponge is laid smoothly to the surface of the board. Cut excess sponge over the edges.

* Allow board/sponge combo to set for one hour until it is dry.

STEP #4

* Place vinyl over sponge using the staple gun, staple the edge to the backside of the board. Ensure that the vinyl fits tightly and smoothly to the cushioned surface. Note: Be patient, it might take a while to get the vinyl to fit smooth, remember to pull it tight and then staple.

* After the boards are upholstered, you are ready to insert the speaker covers or speaker system in place. This is the part when you use your own creativity.

STEP #5

• Place the vertical board inside the back seat area.
• Next, place the horizontal board. You must slide it so that the edge of the board will slide into the space in the corner (ledge) of the interior. It will be a tight fit, so use a flat tip screwdriver to wedge in the slack of the board. Push the horizontal board rearward until it seats perfectly.
• Fasten the horizontal board to the vertical board. Ensure that the vertical top edge is just behind the front of the horizontal edge (behind the 2"x1" wooden piece). You will take wood screws to fasten the two boards together. Note: You will have to come in through the trunk (inside the closure) to fasten the screws. Place the wood screws so that it will drill into the back of the wooden piece.
• You will also place a screw on the two bottom corners of the vertical board. Also on the rear corners of the horizontal board (beside each end of the trunk cover assembly). Tips: You can use the screw cover caps to cover up the head of the screw. You can buy them or use the screw caps located on the door panels.
• Note: You may notice a slight buckle in the center of the horizontal board (near the back seat cover assembly), so I just took a very small screw and fastened the horizontal gap to the trunk cover assembly.
• Also remember, the conversion is not permanent. you can remove it when ever needed.  NOTE:  (You should only have to use 4-5 screws) that

actually screw into the interior in your back seat.  Two on the bottom of the vertical board (one on each corner) that will  attach to the bottom
rug panels.  Two (near the back seat "seat belt covers" one on each side.  And one that attaches to the center of the "trunk cover" frame, to
keep the horizontal board secure and to keep the board from buckling in the center.  So you don't need to get "screw happy", the less screws
the less damage there will be when you remove it.  Let me know how you like it, and email me personally if you have any questions on the
